A few months ago, Rekah tore up Georgetown, Penang, Malaysia, in an epic show hosted by Komal and the crew from Ruas Store. With support from Maternal, Rekah flew out in February to make it happen. Ruas Store went wild that night—packed to the brim, sweat-drenched bodies moshing together. It was an unforgettable first international gig for Rekah, making Malaysia their debut stop.
But Rekah's journey didn't stop there. They're back on the road, and this time, the ride is longer and even more exciting. Dubbed the Doomsday Gala tour, Rekah's hitting up five stops, with two of them outside Indonesia. This mini-tour is a big deal for them, covering Manila, Philippines, and Guangzhou, China. Here's the rundown: Rekah kicks things off in Solo for a show with Submarine and Outtasight, alongside Senja Dalam Prosa, Enamore, and Sunlotus.
Then they jet off to Manila for a dream come true—opening for their idols, Deafheaven. The Deafheaven live in Manila gig, organized by Sleeping Boys Collective and Furiosa Sound, is a huge milestone for Rekah. After that, they head to Guangzhou for a show organized by GZ Present. It's going to be insane. Finally, Rekah returns to Indonesia, hitting up Bogor and wrapping things up in Jakarta. Faiz and Tepi, who rocked the Georgetown gig with them, will be joining this epic tour.
And once again, Rekah is getting support from Maternal Disaster for the Doomsday Gala tour. This is definitely something to be proud of, as Maternal has consistently backed the local underground music scene. Their unwavering support is a huge boost for Rekah and the entire community.
Rekah's got a crazy busy year ahead. Besides monthly gigs, they're also cooking up another surprise—a split EP with a famous electronic pop group from Bandung. This collab is going to be fire and a must-listen. Despite the setback from Tomo's departure, Rekah's dreams are back on track, stronger than ever.
This journey is wild for Rekah, a once-in-a-lifetime experience. But who knows, maybe crazier adventures are on the horizon. Japan or America next year? Let's wait and see. The key is to keep pushing forward, and here's to hoping Rekah stays strong and united.
